Shelby and Bentley's day at the beach
Monday, November 16, 2009 at 12:30PM Deanna contacted me to photograph her family....Shelby, Bentley and her husband Chris. She said that she wanted to do this as soon as possible because she fears that the dogs are getting fragile and they might not be around much longer. My heart went out to her and we scheduled the shoot for the next day.
During the 3 hours we spent together, I laughed and smiled more than any other portrait shoot. The dogs were so old, they acted like puppies. I found myself on the ground playing with them, petting them, and holding them (when they weren't looking for food). Poor Bentley is 16 years old, can't hear and is going blind. Still, they ran and played as if they were just finding their legs like puppies. I only spent a few hours with them but I could not imagine life without Bentley and Shelby.
My heart goes out to Deanna and Chris - and to every pet owner. Go home as soon as you can and give your pet a big hug!!!!
